Clam Lake News & Events

Greetings Readers!

WOW! This weather is great! It’s November 6th and right now it’s 64 degrees and in some places it is 70 and 75… It’s been pretty mild for the last couple of weeks. Sure.. it gets cold at night but, I’m pretty sure we’ll survive…..

I talked to Colleen Jossart last week and she gave me the latest info on Gary. There will be a Memorial Service on November 13th in Minnesota where Gary’s family lives. Then in May, Gary will be laid to rest in the Veteran’s Cemetery near Spooner, Wisconsin. There will be an obit in the paper and the Sawyer County Record…

If you are looking for something to do and want to have some fun and support a good cause, then the Clam Lake Forest Riders Snowmobile Club has just the thing for you.. On Saturday, November 12 from 3-5pm at Deb’s Y-Go-By, they will hold their Meat Raffle. All the proceeds will go to the Brick Missionary and the Sixth Street Market Holiday Meals… If you have any questions you call Deb’s at 715-794-2272 or Gail at 715-794-2754 and they will be happy to answer your questions.

With Hunting Season “Deer Gun”, then Thanksgiving there will be more hunters in the woods so, in this nice weather if you are going out for a walk please wear bright colors. It’s better to be safe than sorry!

Last Friday I spotted a dead elk at the end of my driveway, it was lying up against the guard rail so I thought it was hit by a logging truck. I called Sawyer County Sherriff and it was hauled away. They are out and about so, slow down a little and pay extra attention….

The November Potluck Dinner/meeting will be held this Thursday, November 10th at 5pm at the Community Clubhouse. Hope to see you there…

As the mild weather continues get out and enjoy it….and be kind.
