Clam Lake News & Events

Happy Labor Day!

It seems like it was just Memorial Day! Where has the summer gone? With the coming of Labor Day many changes are in the works for area folks, the first big change is getting back into a routine as school has started. Both teachers and students will have to adjust and for some sleepy heads it’s not easy but, they’ll get into the swing of things soon….

Another big adjustment is mass at St. George’s Chapel saw it’s last mass last Saturday with a full house. The Church Ladies and Gordon will make the trek to Glidden for the fall and winter masses. As they always do….

Many of our “Snowbirds” will start making plans to return to their winter homes. It’s always sad to see them go but the winter is very hard to some folks….

People in the news:

Get well wishes go out to Jolene “Mathey” Rein as she is going to have surgery soon on her back. Our prayers will be with her for a speedy recovery. We are all sure that Dan will be taking good care of her during her recovery….

Pete Heinrietz and his wife Deb made the trip to their Clam Lake Retreat. Pete enjoyed a little R&R as he and Deb took in The last Taco Wednesday at Deb’s with the Glafcke’s and dinnner at Georgie and Bob’s….

I have to apologize to Kim Schiel for mistakenly putting her sister’s name in the paper as Kim last week. It was Kim who joined the Clam Lake Ladies for dinner at the Glidd Inn not Kelly Martell….

It seems that Clam Lake was well represented at Bingo at the Glidden Fair last Saturday as Bonnie Reukema, Sarah Reukema and Mom Bev, Jill Eder, Jean Miendel and daughters, Pat Dudley and myself played a few games of bingo with some of us lucky and some not so lucky but, we all had a lot of fun….

We saw Dan Rein at the fair patiently waiting for the mud run to start… IT sure sounded like a lot of fun!

The next Potluck Dinner/meeting will be held on Thursday, September 8th at 5pm. Come join your friends and neighbors for great food, good conversation and “High Stakes” Bingo…..

Until next time…be kind!
