ELK COUNTRY BUGLE
The Elk Country Riders held their first club meeting of the year on Saturday January 10, where we discussed the upcoming 1st Annual Elk Country ATV Ice fishing contest. This is how the event went.
On a cold (-20) sunny day on January 24th the club held the ice fishing contest and fundraiser on Lower Clam Lake. The club had a great turnout for our first ice fishing event. We sold raffle tickets for donated prizes. We had brats, hotdogs, and hot chocolate, and coffee, pop and cold beer for sale. We also had a warm tent to take the chill off and tell all about the large fish we were all catching! We had roughly 25 entrants for the contest and prizes went out to the largest Crappie, Blue Gill and Perch.
Raffle Winners
1st Place Ice Auger winner Brent Ronduau
2nd Place Ice Shack winner Ms Riley Anderson
Fish Winners
Perch category winner was Rodney Lazarz
Crappie category winner was Scott Lewis
Blue Gill category winner was Brad Stai Jr
And congratulations to all of the other raffle prize winners!!
We have a lot of people to thank for a Fantastic 1st Annual Ice Fishing Event!!
Let’s start with Rick and Kriss Guthman for all the planning and bringing it all together!! Jim and Deanna Grejek for getting us the tent. Thomas Dezotel for plowing the snow off the lake. Pat Duddly for working the concession stand and selling raffle tickets. And of course everyone else who pitched in and did what ever was needed to make this event a success!! Thank You All!!
