Elk Country ATV Club’s
Spring Newsletter
The Elk Country ATV Club held their first club meeting of the year on January 16, 2010,where we discussed the upcoming 2nd annual Ice fishing contest. We had many donations but could always use more help getting the donations and more help out on the ice. This year was a big success. We had 117 enter the contest. It was a nice day but windy.
Top Winners were:
The ATV winner was Jake Wiitala from Rib Lake, WI who attended the ice fishing contest with his two children
The Vexilar fish locator went to Jim Lindquist of Highbridge
The Quick 3 Ice shack and fishing pole went to Rob Dezotell of Clam Lake
The Quick 3 Ice shack went to Tom Buckner of Cayuga
We had a total of 17 winners of different prizes. Too many to list.

Club meetings have been set for the following months:
March: No meeting
April 17th 1:00pm @ the Elkhorn Lodge
May 15th 1:00pm @ the Possum Lodge
June 12th 1:00pm @ the Elkhorn Lodge (Election of officers)

We have set our 3rd annual Ice fishing contest for January 22nd, 2011 on Lower Clam Lake and are looking for as many volunteers as we can get. We will be raffling off 2 ATV’s this contest. One is a Sportsman 400, 2010 and the other is an Outlaw 90cc youth model 2010. Both ATV’s are from Polaris. We are enclosing tickets for them in this newsletter and would like all members to sell them, buy them yourselves or return them. We will need all ticket stubs with money returned. Club Rides are set for the following dates:
June 19, 2010 This will be our overnight ride, Leaving @ 8:30am from the Elkhorn Lodge & going to Parkfalls.
July 17, 2010 Leaving @ 9:00am from the Elkhorn Lodge & going to Stockfarm Bridge.
August 7, 2010 Leaving the Elkhorn Lodge @ 8:30am.
September 25, 2010 is our fall ride & last ride of the year. We will be going to penokee overlook & leaving the Elkhorn Lodge @ 9:30am. This should be a very colorful ride. If you would like to join us please let us know on the day rides or just show up. For the overnight ride, please let us know in advance so we have enough rooms reserved for everyone.

The Clam Lake Forest Riders Welcome You!

Tucked in the middle of Northern Wisconsin’s Chequamegon National Forest is a little slice of the Northwoods called Clam Lake. This area is blessed with some of the best snowmobile trails in the entire State.

The snowmobile trails in the Clam Lake Area are maintained by The Clam Lake Forest Riders Snowmobile Club. This group of hard working and fun loving people work diligently to help maintain the trails leading to this part of the National Forest.
