North Station is located in the Chequamegon National Forest within one mile of the village of Clam Lake and is less than ½ mile from the headwaters of the Chippewa Flowage.
Wildlife in the national forest is plentiful with fox, loons, black bear, white tailed deer and eagles ever present to the sharp eye. The Rocky Mountain Elk Release Foundation has placed over 100 of the majestic animals in the forest. Groups of elk now roam the woods around rustic Clam Lake and can often be seen by the patient observer.
Dozens of national forest boat landings, ATV and snowmobile trails await out-door recreation enthusiasts. Wildlife and nature surround the property making seasonal hunting and fishing easily accessible. Silent sport participants can enjoy scenic single-track biking, cross country skiing, canoeing & kayaking without getting in the car. For those who enjoy a round of golf several championship courses are within ½ hour of the cabin.
