In 1926 Lumber Baron L.L. Barth built the Wapiti Cabin & Clam Lake Lodge on idyllic lake shore on Upper Clam Lake. Mr. Barth built the Lodge as his family’s summer home and as a private resort to entertain friends, business and political associates. Wapiti Cabin housed the caretakers of the Lodge, Phil and Marie Henry. Wapiti, which means elk in the Cree language, is an 840 square foot cabin located on Upper Clam Lake, in Clam Lake, Wisconsin.
Clam Lake Lodge and Wapiti Cabin sit on 350 feet of Upper Clam Lake frontage one mile south of the village of Clam Lake, Wisconsin. The property has incredible views of Campfire Island, which sits in the middle of the lake.
Wapiti Cabin
Wapiti Cabin has two bedrooms, the master with a queen bed, and the second bedroom with two twin beds. The cabin has a single large bathroom with toilet, bathtub and shower. There is a full size kitchen with brand new full size range and refrigerator. There is an oak kitchen table with four chairs.
The living room includes a recliner and full size futon that pulls out into a bed. There is a 51 inch Samsung HDTV with digital cable. Complimentary wifi is provided. A Sony BluRay player provides access to internet tv programming including Netflix, Hulu Plus and Amazon Videos amongst others.
The living room has patio doors that step out onto the large deck. The deck has a patio table and benches. The deck has wonderful views of Upper Clam Lake.
Clam Lake is located in the heart of the 860,000 acre Chequamegon-Nicolet
National Forest. Clam Lake is the only town located in this 725 square mile
section of the Chequamegon (roughly the same size of the Twin Cities
metropolitan area). Clam Lake is blessed with an abundance of activities, and
Wapiti Cabin is the perfect places to call home for you to base your
adventures.

Clam Lake Lodge
Next door to the Wapiti Cabin is the 5,200 square foot Clam Lake Lodge with 4 bedrooms all with private baths. There is a large amusement/bar area with 9 bar stools, pool table, 80" Sharp Smart TV, and video games.
The completely remodeled kitchen has new granite and cherry butcher block countertops, a 6 burner Wolf Range with a 34 inch griddle/fry top, Wolf twin ovens and a 36 inch wide refrigerator/freezer. There is a comfortable living room with fireplace and large 12-person dining table overlooking the lake.
