It’s Sunday, September 11th today, fifteen years since 9/11. As we watched tv this morning there was a moving tribute to all that have lost their lives that day and the fifteen year war to follow. We did not forget the tragedy of that day and we can not forget the tragedy of war but, our lives must go on. We have picked up the pieces and carried on but, We will never forget….
Last Thursday the community held it’s monthly Potluck Dinner/meeting. There was a brief meeting with a breakdown on the treasurer’s report and secretary’s report. Lynne Rice reported on the historical happenings and there were no outreach cards sent out this past month. Next it was dinner there was ziti and meatballs, meatloaf, stew, macaroni salads, ham, pizza and rolls. If you went home hungry it was your own fault! Then we played “High Stakes” Bingo. Ace was the big hit of the evening as every time he said he smelled a bingo the next number someone would call out bingo! It was sure a lot of fun! These monthly are open to everyone and it’s a good way to catch up on community happenings….
Last Saturday the Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation held the Bugle Day Picnic at Day Lake. There was a great crowd of about 70 people and the picnic fare was catered by Jimmy’s BBQ from Hayward. The raffle was a big success and Clam Lake was well represented in the winner’s circle with Bud and Julie, Dan and Kathy, Jerry and Colleen, Joy and Len all held lucky tickets and our newest resident Chuck Allison was a big winner! Everyone had a great time and can’t wait until next year…..
I ran into the Frasch’s the other day and I have to say it was so nice to see Dave, Evie and Chris. It’s been way too long!
