Community Club Meetings & Minutes

November 14th 2024

The meeting was called to order by President Josh Louks.

The Pledge of Allegiance was said.

The Minutes from the October 10th meeting and the November 2nd Officers meeting were read and accepted.

The Treasurer’s Report was read and accepted.

Old Business:

Outreach – Alice Filter reported that she had sent three cards as of last meeting.

Beer Shed and Fire Hall – There was discussion as to the insulating of the Beer Shed to prevent condensation and the building of a wall in the Fire Hall so as to make a smaller space to heat. It was decided to close down the bathrooms in the Fire Hall for the winter so as to save on electricity and to go through a winter with the Fire Hall to assess the cost of heating as opposed to construction of a wall. The insulating of the Beer Shed is on hold for now.

Boulders – It was decided to leave the rocks in front of the building for the winter. Josh will speak to the Town of Gordon about making a swipe in front of the Fire Hall for Handicapped Parking. He will take care of other plowing or, if he is unavaible, will contact someone to do.

New Business:

Checking account – The checking account has been updated to eliminate Bud and Julie Rubeck from the account with Josh Louks and Dave Hebert added on. The separate checking account for the building fund has been closed with those monies being added into the regular checking account. This dissolves the building committee.

Christmas Party – It was decided to have a Christmas Party on Thursday December 10th beginning at 5:00. We won’t have a meeting but will have our usual Pot Luck. A gift exchange will also go on for anyone wishing to participate. It was decided to place a $15 price limit on the gift labeling it Man or Woman. Decorating for the Christmas party will be on Thursday December 5th at 10:00 am.

Generator – Josh has been checking the generator monthly to make sure it is in good running order. It was noted that if anyone needs a place to go in case of a power outage the Center has been deemed an Emergency Center for that purpose.

Cellular Thermostat – Josh has been looking into a thermostat that can run off of cellular so that officers could have it on their phones to check on the heat in the building rather than having to physically stop and check the building.

Kathy Arias reported that she had spoken with Julie Rubeck about Bud and he is doing well, although tired. He said to say “Hi” to all.

Museum books – Lynne mentioned that she has brought out the history binders on Clam Lake from the Glidden Museum for the winter and has placed them on the back tables for viewing.

Rick Filter won the door prize with Alice Filter winning the Fill Your Card Bingo.

Meeting adjourned.
