Clam Lake News & Events

Hello Clam Lake!

RAIN FINALLY! This week saw us ending it with some much needed rain. Living in the forest, I think we were all thankful to see its arrival. Thank you to all those that were doing their rain dances!!!!

SPEND THE DAY IN CLAM: This year Clam Lake will be holding their annual 4th of July celebration on Saturday July 1st. The day will kick off with a MEAT RAFFLE put on by the Clam Lake Forest Riders running from 3:00 to 5:00 at Ransom’s Place. Time to stop by and support this hard working club and possibly win some delicous meat from Rondeaus in the process. Then one can make their way down to the grounds of the Clam Lake Community Center to enjoy the 4th of July festivities there. For food there will be hot dogs and barbecues along with freshly made popcorn, home made doughnuts and goodies for the kids. Beverages will also be on hand for purchase. All of this will culminate in a spectacular fireworks display down by the lake. Come and enjoy the fun!

ST. GEORGE: Mass is celebrated every Saturday at St. George, our historic “Chapel in the Pines”, at 6:00 pm. St. George was built in 1948 using the logs of the forest that surround it. Come take a step back in time to a simpler era as we worship in our simple log cabin chapel. St. George was built in memory of George Zillig, whom was killed in a traffic accident in August of 1945, just a few weeks after being released from his service in WWII. Work began on the chapel in 1948 with it being officially dedicated by the bishop on June 21st of 1949. It has served our forest community’s spiritual needs as a summer mission chapel ever since. Come pray with us!

COMMUNITY CENTER UPDATE: This past week saw the pouring of the concrete that will be the base of the new Clam Lake Community Center. The tubing for in floor heat was put in prior. If you get a chance drive by and see the progress. So, begins our next chapter. Looking good!
