Ashland County Snowmobile Report for March 3, 2016
The Ashland County snowmobile trails are OPEN, groomed and in fair condition.
Grooming operations continue with groomers reporting that the trails are in fair shape. The snow cover in some areas is thin, but all trails are still rideable.
If the warm weather persists, the trails around Ashland in the northern portion of the county soon will be declared closed. The trails in southern Ashland County around Mellen, Glidden and Clam Lake are in better shape because that area received more snow and the trails are shaded more in the forest so they have retained more snow cover.
Snowmobilers are urged to be extremely careful and exercise due caution as the trails are very slick.
The Tri-County Recreational Corridor from Ashland west to Superior is being groomed 2-3 times a week and is also in decent shape for riding.
NOTE: A temporary detour route has been posted on Trail 9 from Ashland to Sanborn.
