OLD BUSINESS
Rental: Forest Service and a wedding.
SIGNS: Jules Titus brought in the plaque that was removed and refinished. The name was very hard to see once polished. Suggestion to leave the plaques as is as they show age and how long some of the names, on the board, have been in Clam Lake. It was suggested that we leave the sign as is also. Maybe in the spring when more people come up for the summer. Tabled to November.
Parking Signs: The township of Gordon is responsible and will take care of the signs.
Fire House Doors: Pam has received $500 from Columbia Forest Company, for 1 door. Alice will send thank you once we receive the check and Pam sends the address to her. Tabled until November.
NEW BUSINESS
There were 2 ideas for Bud’s memorial bench, Metal and composite. Pam let us know that Francois’ can not furnish it, but, told her they could cost about $1,000. Questioned if we need to build a bench for everyone if we did for Bud? Right now we have $835 collected. We need to do more checking for cost. Tabled until November.
Jean Kubly told us that she is downsizing. She has a collection of animals that Jerry Holter, Lynne Rice’s father and long time resident of Clam Lake, carved for Jean and her husband. She would like to donate them to the CLCC to display if we could put up a shelf for them. It was agreed that we can. Ace will work on it.
The editor of the Glidden Enterprise, had called Alice but, were unable to talk very long. She will call Alice at a later time to get more information.
Ron Miller inquired about our large balance in the bank and wondered if we could put some of it into CDs. Ace had looked into IBonds before and we are non-profit and unable to put our money there.
Our next meeting will be November 12th at 5:00 pm.
The drawing was won by Cheryl Meadows, Ace’s granddaughter.
Meeting adjourned at 5:33 pm.
Respectfully submitted,
Alice Filter
Secretary CLCC
