Hello Clam Lake!
After several dry days Wednesday night brought a downpour with us accumulating over two inches of rain in a short amount of time. It poured and them some! And, of course, we’ve had our obligatory one day warm, one day cool temperatures. One morning I heard the heat kick on and was like….excuse me? Supposed to be summer and wasn’t it just 95 in the shade a week or so ago? And so it goes…..
4TH on the 3RD: Clam Lake’s 4th of July celebration will be held on Saturday July 3rd at the Clam Lake Community Club. Beer, soda, popcorn and Lea’s famous barbecues will be on hand for purchase. Fireworks begin at dusk.
MEETING: With things opening up again, the Clam Lake Community Club will be resuming their monthly meetings on Thursday, July 8th. The meeting is at 5:00 pm, followed by a Pot Luck. Time to reunite with your fellow Clam Lakers and see what everyone’s been up to. Hope to see you there!
ST. GEORGE’S CHAPEL: Mass is celebrated every Saturday at 6:00 pm at our historic “Chapel in the Woods”. Come pray with us and take a trip back in time to a simpler era in our log cabin chapel made from the forest that surrounds it.
CAMP FIRE ISLAND RESIDENTS: The eagles on Camp Fire Island are once again happy to report that their two young eaglets are growing up fast and doing well! Jan Sharp was able to snap a photo of the two youngsters as they peer out of the nest awaiting a meal brought my Mom and Dad. She said they aren’t flying yet nor “crying” as much as the young of past years. At least not yet. The crying gets more intense when their parents start refusing to feed them to encourage them to try flying.

A belated Happy Birthday goes out to, Mickey, Kathy Aria’s dog of legend and myth whom celebrated his birthday a couple weeks ago. Age and breed unknown. Such a good dog!
