Clam Lake News & Events

Hello Clam Lake!

Hmmm…..quite the weather week as we had a bit of melt which, of course, led to even more snow! By the end of the weekend most of us were pretty much literally buried in snow. Time for spring? I’m thinking….YES!!!!

DONATION REMINDER: Remember there’s still time to donate to the Clam Lake Forest Riders at either the Clam Lake Junction or the Chippewa Outpost. When in either establishment you may be asked if you would care to donate a dollar towards this hard working club. If you say yes, the cashier will hit the donate button and done! Of course, it’s not necessary to make a purchase to donate you can simply say you’d like to make a contribution and it will be recorded. Thanks to all that donate to our local snowmobile club whom have worked very hard this past winter keeping the trails groomed and cleared to the benefit of so many!

THANK YOU! A NOTE FROM CLAM LAKE EMT MAKALA REUKEMA: “The Glidden Area Emergency Medical Service (GAEMS) would like to thank the community for their continued support. With the help of generous donations from our communities, as well as the Flex Grant, the service has been able to purchase a new ambulance. The new ambulance is expected to arrive Summer/Fall of 2023. GAEMS is excited to continue to serve our local communities.” How wonderful! We thank all those that have contributed and to Makala and the rest of the GAEMS staff for their service to our communities. We are grateful you are there!

HELP NEEDED – COUNTING CRANES: A note from Clam Laker Bonnie Booth – Sawyer County is looking for volunteers willing to assist in a crane count being held on April 15th between the hours of 5:30 am and 7:30 am. Volunteers will be asked to go out to assigned spots on the 15th and count. Currently, there are 8 sites available between Clam Lake and Hayward and one site near Loretta. If interested, please contact Bonnie at 317-708-3481 or bonniemarie214@yahoo.com She will be coordinating the Sawyer County sites. You can also check the savingcranes.org for me info. Thanks!

Until next week…..Happy St. Patrick’s Day to all!!! As they say in Ireland – “May your troubles be less and your blessings be more and nothing but happiness come through your door.”
