Hello Clam Lake!
Well…summer is here! This past holiday weekend saw the return of many of our out of town visitors as they ventured northward to enjoy our forest and all it has to offer. And so it begins! Welcome back everyone!
MEETING REMINDERS – The Clam Lake Community Club will be holding their monthly meeting on Thursday, June 13th beginning at 5:00 pm. After the meeting there will be a Pot Luck followed by some Clam Lake Style Bingo led by Master Bingo Caller Ace Griffaw. Hope to see you there!
BOOK CLUB – The newly established Clam Lake Book Club will hold their second meeting on Monday June 10th at the Elkhorn from 4:30 to 5:30. The book being discussed will be “The Heaven and Earth Grocery Store” by James McBride. They welcome all to join them for some “lively discussion, camaraderie, tasty food and inspiring libation”.
ST. GEORGE CHAPEL – As the summer season gets underway our historic St, George Chapel is once again “open for business”. Mass is said every Saturday at 6:00 pm at our little log cabin chapel in the pines. We welcome all to come and take a step back in time to a simpler era within its walls. Our slogan? “No Vacation From God’s Service!” Come pray with us!
CONGRATULATIONS – We wish to congratulate the recipients of the Clam Lake Community Scholarship for 2024! They are Elizabeth Hactfiel and Cassidy Aartla both of Glidden. Elizabeth will be pursuing a degree in Earth Science with Cassidy hoping to work in Wildlife and Fisheries Management. We wish them well as they move on to the world of higher education. Congrats!

THANK YOU to the Glidden VFW for coming out to Clam Lake to do the annual Memorial Day service at the bridge and cemetery to honor all those that have served. (As a side note – our cemetery is beginning to take shape and is looking much better! Thank you Town of Gordon!)
