Hello Clam Lake!
ELK BATH TIME – Every September it seems there will be a group of elk either swimming or strolling past my old dock taking a much needed bath before they settle in for the cooler months. After retuning from Elk Fest last Saturday there were two cows happily swimming along reminding me of their yearly ritual.
BOOK CLUB REMINDER – The Clam Lake Book Club will be holding their next meeting on Monday October 7th at the Elkhorn Lodge running from 4:30 to 5:30. This month’s meeting will be “Reader’s Choice” in which attendees are asked to bring a favorite book or a current read to share with the group. These could provide ideas for future book club selections and give us all a chance to share good reads with one another. Remember, the Book Club is open to anyone that wishes to participate. Food and drink will be made available for purchase before, during and after the meeting. We encourage all to join us for some “lively discussion, camaraderie, tasty food and inspiring libation”.
COMMUNITY CLUB MEETING – The Clam Lake Community Club will hold their next meeting on Thursday October 10th beginning at 5:00 pm. After the meeting, there will be a Pot Luck followed by some rousing games of Clam Lake Style Bingo (Small Bucks Bingo) led by Master Bingo Caller Ace Griffaw. Hope to see you there!
SPEAKING OF – A thank you goes out to Ron Vecchie, whom purchased a new Popcorn Maker for the Community Club, after the untimely demise of our old one. He presented it to Ace Giffaw, whom is our Chief of All Things Popcorn. Thank you!!!
FOREST RIDERS MEAT RAFFLE – On Saturday, October 5th the Clam Lake Forest Riders will be hosting a meat raffle at Ransoms Place running from 3:00 to 5:00 pm. Along with the meat raffle there may also be a 50/50 cash raffle. The proceeds from this month’s raffle will go towards projects and expenses for the upcoming season which will be upon us before we know it. Time to come out and support this hard working club, win some delicious meat and have some fun in the process. Remember all meats come from Rondeaus of Cable.
