Ashland County Snowmobile Report for March 7, 2016
The Ashland County snowmobile trails are partially open but in POOR condition.
The warm weather over the weekend has resulted in the trails north of Mellen being declared CLOSED at this time. However, the snowmobile trails south of Mellen, down by Glidden, Butternut and Clam Lake, are OPEN and still passable as of this morning (Monday, March 7), though they are in poor shape.
They will be monitored closely over the next couple of days and likely will be closed soon as well. Snowmobilers are urged to be extremely careful and exercise due caution as there is ongoing trail work. Riders should also watch for standing water and a couple of detours.
