June 13th 2019
The meeting was called to order by President Bud Rubeck with 25 people attending. The Pledge of Allegiance was said.
The Minutes from the May 9th meeting were read and accepted.
The Treasurer’s Report was read and accepted.
Old Business:
Outreach Cards – Tom reported that none had been sent out.
Scholarship – Broolyn Hanson is the recipient of the 2019 Clam Lake Community Scholarship. She was our only applicant for 2019. Lynne reported that two new Scholarship Committee members have been added. This being Jan Sharp and Beth Allison. We welcome them aboard.
Demostration of the new defibrillator has been put off until fall due to summer becoming so busy.
New Business:
4th of July – The celebration will be held on Saturday the 6th this year. Bud reported that all fireworks are bought and paid for with money to spare. This will be put towards next year’s fireworks. Bud, Derek and crew will man the fireworks again this year. Ace will be handling the ordering of beer and soda. Lea, Jerry and crew will be tending the beer shed and making the food and popcorn. Lynne will make sure the ads are in the newspaper.
Brian Johnson asked about having Adrian (wolf biologist) speak at a future meeting about the wolf packs. Brian will look into this and get back to us about it.
Doc Chisholm and his wife Nancy said they would like to have a party at the Club for the community. Bud will help them with the planning of that.
History – Lynne gave a brief talk about a “Free Movie Night” poster from the early 1950’s. It advertised movies held “Under the Stars” in Clam Lake sponsored by the Boosters Club of the era.
