First meeting in the new Community Center – February 15th 2024
Meeting was called to order by President Bud Rubeck with 25 people attending. The Pledge of Allegiance was said.
No Minutes were read.
The Treasurer’s Report was read and accepted.
Old Business –
Outreach – Alice Filter gave the Outreach report detailing cards sent. She will also be updating the photos included in the card to show the new Community Center. We thank her for that!
New Business –
Ariel Schonscheck presented the Club with a photo she had made of the Community Center sign. Thanks were given for that.
Building Fund Report – Bud gave a run-down of the building fund and sheets were passed out detailing expenses for all to view.
Kathy Arias brought up a donation of sporks that her sister would like to make. At this time, due to an abundance of flat wear both plastic and metal, it was deemed unneccessary.
Georgianna Fanella inquired about the 4th of July celebrations. This year, Clam Lake’s festivities will take place on Saturday, July 6th. It was agreed to have the food housed inside the new kitchen rather than in the beer shed.
Kim Filter has reserved the Center for August 10th to hold a 50th wedding anniversary celebration for her parents Rick and Alice. She extended an invitation to all those present to attend.
Clock – Dennis Booth has offered to attempt to get our old clock, which hung on the Club wall for as long as anyone can remember and suvived the collapse and demolition, in running order. We thank him for that!
Crystal Carter inquired whether the Center would have WiFi. This was deemed unnecessary due to most people having hot spots and to keep expenses down.
Emergency Center – It was explained how, with the installation of a generator, the Center will double as an Emergency Center if ever needed. The generator will also run the old Fire Hall.
Meeting adjourned.
