Community Club Meetings & Minutes

July 8th 2021

The meeting was called to order by President Bud Rubeck. The Pledge of Allegiance was said.

It was decided not to read the last club minutes from January of 2020.

The Treasurer’s report was read and accepted.

Old Business:

Bud reported on the 4th of July celebration. All went well. Thanks go out to Derek Bay, Josh Louks, Tom Biasi and Bud Rubeck for doing the fireworks display. We are listed in the top ten fireworks displays on the Travel Wiscosnin site. We are number four on their list. Good job! It was noted that Lyn Hartl, of the Clam Lake Junction, donated all the beer, soda and food for the evening’s event. We thank him for that. It was also noted that Bug Meister donated two sprayings of the Club grounds prior to the event. Thanks also go out to the Griffaw family for organizing the popcorn and to Lea and Jerry Justice and the Booth family for manning the beer and food stand.

New Business:

It was officially decided to resume regular monthly Community Club meetings which are held on the second Thursday of the month beginning at 5:00 pm.

Bud reported that Clam Lake will be holding their first Elk Fest on Saturday September 25th. Most of this event is being organized by Lyn Hartl of the Junction. Signs are up in the businesses with details. A car show, vendors and elk information provided by Josh and Sarah will be some of the events. There are also elk walking tours being planned by Rob Sparhawk.

The Club will be used by the Fanella family for a Celebration of Life on August 12th, 13th, 14th and 15th.

New flooring will be put in in the kitchen and bathrooms. Bud is in charge of this.

Ace will be spearheading the tearing down of the old outhouses in the backyard.

There was discussion about the outside lights by the bathrooms on the firehouse. Need fixing. Also a new light for the kitchen was brought up since the old one buzzes.

The old flower beds in front of the building will be torn down. The Scotford stone will be moved to sit under the Community Club sign.

Lynne discussed that Deb Higgins has offered to find a used display case for various history things to be displayed within the Community Club. Lynne will check into this.
Along that vein, it was decided to hold a History Night at the August meeting. Lynne will bring things for this.

Meeting adjourned.
