Clam Lake Community Club – Monthly Meeting
June 11, 2026

Meeting called to order by President Josh Louks at 5:07 pm. Board members present: Josh Louks, Alice Filter, Ace Griffaw, Rich Reukuma. Absent was Dave Hebert. Pam Hudson arrived late. There were 21 members present and guest Rob Sparhawk.

Minutes were read and accepted
Treasurer’s report was withheld with Dave Hebert absent.
Outreach – Lynne reported sending 2 cards this past month.

OLD BUSINESS
Josh received permission from the current admin of the Clam Lake website to start a CLCC page. Pam will continue as our admin.

Thank you to everyone who helped with the Memorial Day luncheon. The veterans who attended appreciated it and passed a hat. They gave us $273 in cash. Victor Ambrose, commander of the VFW, said they are currently raising funds for a Clam Lake Memorial Plaque at our cemetery.

Firehall improvements: Ace is still working on getting a full list of all the improvements needed.

Fireworks, July 3rd. Ace and Josh reported that there is a lot of Goose poop on the grounds that needs to be cleaned up before July 3rd. Ace would like some help in doing the cleanup. Georgie reported that the food will set up on Thursday July 2nd. We will be having: BBQ pulled pork with chips for $5, Hot dogs with chips for $3. Ariel will be giving away free items that she makes and, asking for donations. The beer shed will be selling beer for $3 and pop for $2. We will also be having a 50/50 raffle. We are allowed to use the Snowmobile Club’s raffle license and Pam is working on getting our own. Georgie also stated that this will be her last year and Alice may not do it either, for the food and we need volunteers for next year.

NEW BUSINESS
Josh has been researching new insurance for us. The new policy will ½ the price of our current (under coverage). We also get $1M in coverage for selling beer. Cost: $460.41 We only need coverage for the fireworks. The board will also be covered for liability. It also is $1M for the coverage. Cost $593. For our regular property and building coverage, the cost is $2,346. Motion to accept the new policy, seconded and accepted.

Our guest, Rob Sparhawk, talked about Elkfest on September 19th. Posters will be going up shortly

Jerry Justice spoke about the scholarship fund. We have been doing it for 25 years. This year 4 young people applied and we gave each of them a scholarship.

Ace said that we had been asked if the picnic tables could be rented. After discussion it was agreed, by the membership, to deny renting the tables out. They need to stay at the center.

Joan Griffaw won the door prize.

Our next meeting will be July 9th at 5:00
