Meeting was called to order by President Bud Rubeck with 25 people attending. The Pledge of Allegiance was said.
The Minutes from the March 14th meeting were read and accepted.
The Treasurer’s Report was read and accepted.
Old Business:
Outreach – Alice Filter reported that she had sent one card.
Old Business – Sign Roof. Bud reported that the shingles would be arriving tomorrow (the 12th) and the roof would be completed soon.
Fire Prevention – Lea Justice has talked with people from the Forest Service about this. A group of them will come to our May 7th meeting including possible members of the various fire departments to address this issue. We thank her for taking care of this.
New Business – Clock – Lynne reported that our old clock has been put back up. It was learned the clock came from the Clam Lake School. Dennis Booth, whose hobby is clock repair, has been researching and working on it to bring it back to life. We thank him for that.
ASHLAND COUNTY EMERGENCY RESPONSE – Lynne reported that Town of Gordon Chairman Doug Thorp had contacted her about compliling a list of contact information (emails) for people that would be affected if the Day Lake Dam should ever go out. The Ashland County Emergency team had contacted him about this. As a side note – Lynne talked with Doug and between them they decided to put her contact info in her news column so people could send their info if they wish to be included. Lynne will also make sure it is on the website.
Pizza Oven – Kathy Arias inquired about the club getting a pizza oven so people can cook pizzas if they bring them for Pot Lucks. Kathy will look into this.
Gordon Township Annual Meeting – Patti Renzelmann reminded everyone that next Tuesday, the 16th, the Town of Gordon will be holding their Annual Meeting. At this meeting there is no need to be on the agenda and anyone may speak.
ELK TALK – Ron Miller suggested asking Josh Spiegel – the elk biologist – to speak at our June meeting to do an update on the elk. Ron will ask Josh about this.
Rob Sparhawk stopped in to remind everyone that the Clam Lake Elk Fest will take place on Saturday September 23rd. A thank you was extended to Rob for all he does to organize this event.
4th of July – Alice Filter said the menu for this year’s 4th of July, which will be held on Saturday July 6th will include Hot Dogs, Sloppy Joes, doughnuts and Ace’s special popcorn.
Van Nguyen won the door prize with Georgie Fanella taking the “Fill Your Card” Bingo honors. Congrats go out to both of them!
