Good Sunday Afternoon Readers!
Today was another beautiful day in the Northwoods..Right now it’s 4:15pm and 49 degrees on the south side of Lower Clam Lake. It’s overcast and I’m watching the few raindrops hit the deck (very few)…
It’s one of those evenings that you want to curl up and read a good book or watch a Hallmark movie..or two.
There was a beautiful “huge” eagle on Lower Clam this afternoon, he or she was just standing there on the ice enjoying it’s surroundings. All I could think about was where was our new puppy..Elsie is the newest member of our family and I’m glad she turned up inside where she was very safe…
The Clam Lake 5 plus 1 ventured out last Friday to dinner at the Elkhorn Lodge. Lynne Rice, Jane Eder, Bev Vadnais, Pat Dudley, myself and guest Nancy Hawkins ( Justice’s house-sitter) all enjoyed an evening of great food and even better conversation.. We all are looking forward to next time.
The next Clam Lake Community Potluck Dinner has a little twist this time.. We all have been invited to the workshop of Brian Johnson. Brian and his wife Doris are the proud owners of the formerly John Cannon, Kyle Krietzmann home. Brian is a carver and has several pieces he would like us to see before they are sold.. For those interested we will meet at the Johnson’s about 4pm and after Brian’s presentation we will continue on to the potluck at 5pm. If you have any questions feel free to call me..Remember that is Thursday, April 13th.. 4pm at the Johnson and then on to the potluck at 5pm..
Just a note…
Gary Hillstrom will be laid to rest on Saturday April 8th at 11am.. at the Veteran’s Cemetery outside of Spooner on Hwy 53.
Every day we are one day closer to green grass and flowers..Until next time..Be Thankful and Be KInd!
