Old Business:

Outreach Cards: Tom reported that a get well card to Jeff Vadnais had been sent and a thank-you card to Doc and Nancy Chisholm.

St. George’s – Lynne reported that St. George’s Chapel had a successful summer and is now closed for the season. We are thankful to all that helped make it a good year for our church. It got a bit of a face lift by being repainted. At this point, it seems all is set for it to be reopened next summer.

The recent Club use dates were: August 24th (Deb Higgins birthday party), September 6th, 7th and 8th (Craig Rolif’s daughter’s wedding) and September 12th (Forest Service).

New Business:

Scholarship: The first installment of $500 (one of two) has been sent to Brooklyn Hanson, this year’s recipient of the Clam Lake Community Scholarship.

Beth Allison proposed another musical evening at the Club slated for Friday, October 25th. This will be an Autumn Party. Pot Luck will begin at 5:30 with music from 6:00 to 8:00. Costumes are welcome! Beth and Lynne will work on this.

Midwestern Strange – Lynne announced that Benjamin Hollars book “Midwestern Strange” has been released and showed her copy. Clam Lake is featured in a chapter on Project ELF. A copy will be bought to house in the Clubhouse.

Bud has purchased a safe which has been moved into the Club where Community Club documents can be stored in case of fire. The old records chronicle Clam Lake’s history from the early ’30’s onward.

History – Lynne gave a presentation on the Superior and Southeastern railway that once came into Clam Lake from Grandview. This tied in with a survey map done in 1914 and shared by Bill Faude Jr. showing the rail coming into town.

The winner of the door prize was Brian Eder with the fill your card Bingo prize being won by Bev Vadnais.

Meeting adjourned.

Respectfully submitted by:
