I hope everyone had a safe and happy Memorial Day. In Clam Lake there was a service at noon, they threw a wreath in the river and then marched to the cemetery where they said a prayer and the 21 gun salute.

The next Clam Lake Community Potluck Dinner/meeting will be held this Thursday, May 12 at 5pm.
It’s early Monday afternoon or late morning and it sure is a gorgeous day out there. The mercury is settled in at 79 degrees and there’s a nice breeze coming off the lake…

It started out a little cool this morning, 30 degrees here on Lower Clam and then the sun came out. Yippie!
The next Potluck Dinner/meeting will be this Thursday, May 12th at 5pm. There will be a meeting first, then social time and then dinner. After dinner there will be a few games of “high stakes” Bingo. This is a nice time to reconnect with your friends and neighbors… So, bake up a tasty treat and come to the Community Clubhouse on Thursday….
The Clam Lake Fire Tower is at a 1522 foot elevation, providing views of more than a dozen lakes and the West Fork of the Chippewa River.
It’s hard to believe that May is here already, where did April go? It is true as they say that when you get older time just flies by… The way it is happening, we all must be getting up there….
Rain, rain it’s ok. April showers bring May flowers and with all the rain we are getting our flowers should be spectacular!
Population Status: The past two winters have been mild resulting in favorable overwinter conditions for elk and other species of wildlife in northern Wisconsin. In addition, northern Wisconsin experienced an early spring green up in 2015 and it looks like the same will happen in 2016. Right now (pre-calving), the population estimate is approximately 130 elk within the 1,620 square mile Clam Lake Elk Range.
