It’s been a very hot week this past week in the mid eighties and it’s suppose to continue into this week with no relief in sight… I hate to be the bearer of bad news but it looks like this heat wave will continue unless we get some rain…..so, let’s all do our rain dance or say a little prayer for rain….

It was a rough 2 weeks off and I know I missed the fireworks but, I had a great view out my window to see Duluth’s and Superior’s fireworks and they were good enough for me. I would like to THANK our dedicated men who do the show for us year after year. I heard it was a fabulous display. Good job guys!!
Good afternoon Readers!
It’s a beautiful Sunday, perfect for the Father’s Day Picnic and a belated Father’s Day to all the people who have cared for their children, man or woman….
The next big event in our Northwood’s is 4th of July. The Clam Lake Fireworks will be on Saturday, July 4th at Dusk! Please bring a blanket or a chair and some bug dope. Even though the yard will have been sprayed there might be a few bugs there. Also, the donation cans are all over town so, please be generous. Your donation helps defray the cost of the fireworks…..
What a beautiful day in our Northwood’s, today this Sunday afternoon it was spectacular! The lake looked like a mirror with a perfect reflection of the trees along the shoreline. Days like this are great days for laying in the hammock with a great book or throwing a line in the water to see what bites.
Good Rainy Sunday Reader’s!
This light rain will help green up the forest a little more and help the flowers bloom. but, it will also bring on the mosquitos. I really hope not! Let’s hope for a healthy population of bats this year as they can eat thousands of mosquitos a night…..
This Thursday is the monthly Potluck Dinner/meeting. Meeting is at 5pm, dinner will promptly follow meeting. So, bake up at tasty treat and come join your friends and neighbors for a fun filled evening…….
If you’ve been any where this past week you’ll notice the increase in traffic and people. Everyone has taken the kick-off to summer with a lot of activity! There was a lot more people on Lower Clam Lake this past weekend than I’ve seen all year and I the sounds of music coming from Birch Haven Bible Camp was a nice sound to here after the long winter and then there is the cars parked in the Chapel’s yard for the 6pm mass is always a welcome return….. But not as welcome as the smiling faces of these friends Tom and Linda Glafcke, Bob and Karen Schmidt, Pete and Debbie Heineitz and Jack and Barb Cook who all are all spending time getting their summer homes ready for summer!
